2023-2024 AYTTO Massachusetts Scholastic League Starts Off Strong at Mastiff Table Tennis Club

The gymnasium of the Mastiff Table Tennis Club (Mastiff TTC) was filled with the sounds of ping pong balls flying across tables and boxes of pizza as middle and high school students joined in for the first set of matches for the annual American Youth Table Tennis Organization (AYTTO) scholastic league. With 14 teams participating in the 2023-2024 scholastic league season, the first tournament held on November 19, 2023 made a splash as athletes from across Massachusetts joined in for a day of competitive fun!

Mastiff TTC, providing high-quality JOOLA tables and balls, served as the venue for teams from Westford and Westwood to Malden and Newton as matches formed between teams in a round robin style format. The event was co-ed, providing each school to send teams of up to six members filling a team roster. With fierce play alongside friendly rallies, athletes competed for the opportunity to play at the AYTTO National Championships, where the top two teams in each division along with possible wild card teams will receive an invitation to participate in the highly anticipated event. Now that the first of two rounds of team matches have finished, athletes and coaches alike are already looking ahead to the next scholastic tournament – slated to be held at the Boston Table Tennis Club (Boston TTC) in Medford, MA on January 21, 2024!
